Welcome to MOMtessori Guide! Sharmeen is a wife to a golf obsessed man and a mom to three beautiful children, two boys 11, 8 and a beautiful little girl who is 4 years old and has the whole family wrapped around her finger.
She holds a Masters Degree with a concentration in Business Administration from Lahore School of Economics in Pakistan. Her older son introduced her to the Montessori dream, when he started his journey in 2011. As she followed and kept sinking into the Montessori quicksand, Sharmeen joined Montessori New Beginnings in 2014.
She holds an AMS (American Montessori Society) Early Childhood certification as well as Elementary 1 (Lower Elementary) credential. She looks forward to continuing to learn as she will be completing Elementary 2 (Upper Elementary) certification in Summer 2021.
Sharmeen also holds a certification in MACAR (Montessori Applied to children at risk). She deeply understands the specific needs of children with learning differences and additional exceptionalities. She specifically uses strategies with the Montessori educational method to cater to the needs of each individual child.
Sharmeen has been selected for the American Montessori Society Emerging Leaders Fellowship Program 2020-21. This program is designed to develop new generations of highly qualified Montessori leaders to support the work of their organizations and AMS. This opportunity is given to a national cohort of 16 members, with her being the only representative from the state of Texas.
She believes that being a teacher is not only about loving children, but loving to learn as well. She likes to share her journey, experiences and ideas through her blog during her free time.
